SCOTTLAND FC coach Norman Mapeza says he is happy with his team’s performance despite playing a 1-1 draw at home against Ngezi Platinum Stars at Rufaro Stadium Friday.

The defending champions are yet to win a league match this season, as they kicked off their league campaign last week with a 0-0 draw against newcomers Hardrock FC at Chahwanda Stadium in Kwekwe.

Mapeza joined Scottland as the new head coach for this season, coming with a lot of expectations, especially after his good run at FC Platinum during his 10-year stay, which saw him winning three league titles and several cups.

Despite the slow start at Scottland FC, which has seen him failing to win a match in his first two games, the former Warriors coach said he is content with his team.

“So far, so good I can’t complain about the performance, the guys have been working.

“We will get better, but like I said, I’m not picking any party for anything. But it’s a team effort. We drew today, but we move on to the next game.

“I am happy with the progress I am noticing step by step,” said Mapeza after Friday’s draw against Ngezi Platinum Stars.

Although questions are being raised about why Mapeza is failing to achieve results, the gaffer naturally starts the season slowly but always does well as it progresses. In 2008, he lost his opening four games with Munhumutapa FC before going all the way to win the title that season.
