ZIMBABWEAN international Tawanda Maswanhise was on target for Motherwell FC when his side thrashed St Miren FC 5-0 in a Scottish Premier League match played Saturday.
Maswanhise’s scored Motherwell’s second goal from the spot to cushion the side’s lead before they added three more.
Saturday’s goal saw Maswanhise taking his league goal tally to 14, one ahead of Celtic’s Benjamin Nygren, who is on 13 goals.
Maswanhise currently lead the top goal scorers’ chart and he is likely to land the Golden Boot if he continues with his form.
The forward, who also features for the Zimbabwean senior men’s soccer team, scored in every league game he played in January and was voted the league’s Player of The Month January, bagging the accolade for the second time this season.
In all competitions, Maswanhise has scored 19 goals for Motherwell FC this season. making himself one of the best club goal scorers in recent years.
Meanwhile in France, Warriors vice captain Marshall Munetsi Saturday evening scored his first goal for new club Paris FC, who managed to salvage a point against Toulouse in a match that ended 1-1.
Munetsi opened his scoring account in the 39th minute of the first half to give his side a 1-0 halftime lead before the opponents equalised through Julian Vignolo in the 87th minute.
The former Orlando Pirates midfielder moved to Paris FC on loan from English Premier Soccer League side Wolves in January and chances are high the club might to sign him permanently at the end of the season.
