Mel Viljoen has returned to social media following her release from an ICE detention centre. The Real Housewives‘ star first post pokes fun of her luxury lifestyle and endorsement of US President, Donald Trump

Last week, the reality TV star opted for a voluntary departure after overstaying her tourist visa. Her husband, disbarred lawyer Peet Viljoen, who is being kept at a separate facility,  is awaiting an appearance before an immigration judge who will decide his fate.

On Sunday, Mel Viljoen made her long-awaited return to social media after she was released from an ICE detention centre.

The blonde bombshell posted an image on her Instagram Stories of her alongside Donald Trump. In the pic, the unlikely duo stand side by side as they give the camera the thumbs up.

Mel cheekily captioned the snap: “This didn’t age well”.

It’s unclear if the image is authentic or generated by artificial intelligence.

Mel Viljoen also posted a picture of herself out and about with a new set of nails and a fresh hair blowout.

According to immigration law, illegal immigrants have up to 60 days to leave the country if granted voluntary departure.

ARREST AWAITS IN SOUTH AFRICA?

If Mel Viljoen – and her husband Peet Viljoen –  are permitted to leave the country together, they will have to contend with a possible future travel ban to the US.

Information about their illegal immigration status, ICE detention records and overstaying their visa will remain on the system.

The Viljoens are facing multiple criminal and civil charges from several individuals relating to their past fraudulent business dealings.

The couple could be arrested in South Africa if a warrant is issued.

According to private investigator Mike Bolhuis, the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) of South Africa has already confirmed active criminal cases and many other pending cases against the Viljoens; those investigations remain ongoing.
