MTN Uganda Meets ICT Ministry to Advance Country’s Digital Transformation Agenda

MTN Uganda  has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the country’s digital transformation agenda following a meeting between its leadership team and senior officials from the Ministry of ICT and National Guidance.

The meeting, led by MTN Uganda Chief Executive Officer Sylvia Mulinge, brought together Minister for ICT and National Guidance Justine Kasule Lumumba, Minister of State for ICT Alioni Yorke Odria, Permanent Secretary Aminah Zawedde and their respective delegations.

Discussions focused on the Ministry’s ICT priorities and opportunities for MTN Uganda to support the government’s digital transformation ambitions as the country implements its Digital Transformation Roadmap.

Mulinge said MTN Uganda would contribute through continued investment in digital infrastructure, expanded connectivity, support for innovation and increased access to digital and financial services.

She also emphasised the importance of closer collaboration between the telecommunications operator and the government in translating Uganda’s digital transformation objectives into opportunities for individuals, businesses and communities.

The engagement forms part of ongoing efforts to strengthen public-private sector collaboration in advancing Uganda’s digital economy.
