National Insurance Corporation Mourns Death of Chairman Evaristus Jn Marie

The National Insurance Corporation (NIC) is mourning the loss of its Chairman, Evaristus Jn Marie, who passed away on Friday, July 31, 2026, bringing to an end years of dedicated service to one of Saint Lucia’s most important public institutions.

Jn Marie, a respected businessman and proud Saint Lucian, chaired the NIC Board during a period of continued oversight of the Corporation’s operations and remained committed to strengthening the institution’s role in safeguarding the social security benefits of thousands of Saint Lucians.

According to the NIC, his commitment to public service was reflected in his work across several Boards and Committees within the NIC Group of Companies, where he served from February 2021 until his passing.

The Corporation described Jn Marie as a leader who will be remembered for his calm, measured leadership, unwavering sense of fairness, and dedication to serving the people of Saint Lucia.

In a statement, the Board, Management and Staff expressed profound sadness over his passing and extended heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, colleagues and all who had the privilege of working alongside him.

The NIC also invited the public to keep Jn Marie’s loved ones in their thoughts and prayers as they mourn the loss of a man whose service left a lasting impact on the organisation and the wider Saint Lucian community.

Funeral arrangements have not yet been announced.
