National Basketball League side Namuwongo Blazers has boosted its squad with Congolese guard Kasereka Tembo.
According to SportsNation, the guard has already joined the defending champions and will be part of the team that will tussle to defend their reign.
Tembo is not a new name in the NBL. The agile guard has played for teams like KIU Rangers and Sommet. His switch to the Blazers gives him a chance to reunite with countryman Fataki Nyembo.
The arrival of Tembo offers Blazers another good shooter of the ball, more so beyond the paint. However, he will have to work hard to get into the thinner rotation given the number of guards in the team.
Having won 10 of the 11 games played in the first round, the Blazers will keep their eyes on the prize as they look forward to defending their throne.
The Blazers return to action on Wednesday, April 29, as they take on KCCA Panthers at ABJA Park, Nalya in their second round opener.
