And then there were four.

Ontario Christian, Etiwanda, Sierra Canyon and Sage Hill were the four seeded teams when the CIF Southern Section released this year’s Open Division girls basketball playoff schedule. And all four avoided roadblocks to reach Tuesday’s semifinal round.

Ontario Christian, the defending Open Division section champion and this year’s No. 1 seed, plays host to No. 4 Sage Hill in one of the semifinals. Etiwanda is the No. 2-seeded team and hosts No. 3 Sierra Canyon in the other semifinal about 15 miles away.

Both games are scheduled to tip off at 7 p.m.

The winners advance to the Open Division championship game, which takes place Saturday at Toyota Arena in Ontario at 8 p.m.

There is plenty of history in each of Tuesday evening’s showdowns.

Sage Hill once was a nemesis for Ontario Christian, winning five consecutive games against the Knights between 2022 and 2024. Ontario Christian has won the past two meetings however, including a 68-35 win over the Lightning in last year’s section playoffs.

Ontario Christian (30-1) has cruised through three playoff games, averaging 106.7 points per game with an average margin of victory of 45.7 points per game. The Knights are ranked No. 2 in the nation by MaxPreps.com and have won nine straight games.

Junior point guard Kaleena Smith leads the way at 32.4 points, 7.1 assists and 4.8 steals per game. Sophomore wing Tatianna Griffin is averaging 22.4 points and 8.1 rebounds per game, while junior guard Dani Robinson checks in at 16.4 points and 4.2 steals per game. Freshman forward Chloe Jenkins is averaging a double-double with 15 points and 11.4 rebounds per game.

Sage Hill (27-4) brings a 22-game winning streak into Tuesday’s contest and is ranked No. 17 in the nation by MaxPreps.com. The Lightning are led by senior guard Amalia Holguin (21.7 points per game) and junior forward Kamdyn Klamberg (15.3 PPG).

Etiwanda and Sierra Canyon have clashed nine times since the 2018 season and 10 times overall. Etiwanda has a 7-3 edge in the all-time series, including three consecutive victories. The Eagles are looking to reach the Open Division section finals for the fifth consecutive season. Etiwanda (30-2) is ranked No. 4 in the nation by MaxPreps.com and  has won 22 straight games.

The Eagles have faced little resistance in the Open Division playoffs this season, winning their three games by an average margin of 34.3 points per game. Etiwanda is led by the backcourt duo of senior Arynn Finley and junior Chasity Rice, who combined for 45 points in a pool-play game against Lakewood St. Joseph and 37 points in the quarterfinal game against Rancho Christian.

Sierra Canyon (28-2) is ranked No. 5 in the nation by MaxPreps.com and brings a 10-game winning streak into the game. The Trailblazers nearly were upset by Centennial in pool play (59-54) but came back with a 79-38 quarterfinal win over Mater Dei.

Leading Sierra Canyon is senior guard Jerzy Robinson, who was selected for the McDonald’s All-American Game.
