VICTORIA FALLS: THE Southern African Development Community (SADC) member states are meeting here to strengthen regional cooperation in agriculture, livestock development, fisheries, aquaculture and food security across the region.

THE Minister for Agriculture, Daniel Chongolo leads the Tanzanian delegation to the meeting that involves the SADC Council of Ministers  meeting on Agriculture, Food Security, Livestock, Fisheries and Aquaculture held in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe.

According to information from the Ministry for Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, the meeting focused on strategies to strengthen regional cooperation in agriculture, livestock development, fisheries, aquaculture and food security across Southern African Development Community (SADC) member states.

Moreover, the meeting followed a two-day experts’ session held on May 27 and 28, where technical officials discussed and prepared key sectoral issues for consideration by ministers.

Minister Chongolo was accompanied by the Ministry of Agriculture’s Deputy Permanent Secretary responsible for Crop Development and Food Security, Prof Peter  Msoffe, who led Tanzania’s delegation during the experts’ meeting.

Upon arrival in Zimbabwe, the minister was received by Tanzania’s Ambassador to Zimbabwe, CP Suzan Kaganda.
