*Lil Baby is making moves outside the recording studio. The rapper has signed on as a co-founder and investor in Dr. Bombay Ice Cream, the culture-driven frozen dessert company built by Snoop Dogg, with Snoop’s son Cordell Broadus steering the creative direction, PEOPLE reports.
Broadus made clear the partnership was no accident. “Bringing Lil Baby into Dr. Bombay was a very intentional move,” he said. “Lil Baby has built one of the most authentic brands in music, and he understands how to connect with people at scale. This isn’t about a name — it’s about aligning with someone who sees our long-term vision and can help us build something that lasts for the next generation of ice cream lovers.”
Dr. Bombay markets itself as a “Hip Hop Style” brand that “remixes classic frozen treats with West Coast flavor full of clever music nods and hip hop easter eggs, blending bold flavors, textures, and ingredients into an ice cream-sherbet hybrid that’s wholly unique and delicious,” the news release said. The line up includes Iced Out Orange Cream, Baked Blueberry Muffin, Sticky Caramel Apple, and Tropical Sherbet Swizzle. After debuting at Walmart in 2023, the brand carved out shelf space at 7-Eleven and has grown into a nationally available product at both chains.
“With serious retail momentum, a growing fanbase, and an unmistakable cultural edge, Dr. Bombay is ready to take over the freezer aisle nationwide,” the release said. The announcement arrives days before Dr. Bombay plants its first physical flag — a Venice Boardwalk storefront in Los Angeles opening April 26 and running through October 2026.
When it comes to a personal favorite, Snoop pointed to Iced Out Orange Cream, calling it “that vanilla ice cream mixed with orange sherbet and some swirly orange goodness.”
The hip-hop icon noted that “ice cream is more than just a snack to me. It’s a way to kick back and relax.”
