A fourth consecutive loss left the Saint Lucia national women’s football team bottom of their group and searching for answers in the 2026 CONCACAF W Championship Qualifiers. Saint Lucia lost 1-0 to St Vincent & the Grenadines on Saturday, April 18, at the Daren Sammy Cricket Ground.

A 14th-minute free kick, assessed against Krysan St Louis, gave Karesha Iton the opportunity to show off her powerful shot. From some 35 yards out, the 25-year-old Chatham United central midfielder sailed a long free kick over the top that caught the goalkeeper off guard and bounced right into the net. It was her maiden international goal, in just her second game for the Lady Heat.

Saint Lucia enjoyed 58.2 per cent of the possession, and took 11 goals to just six for the Vincentians, but only five on target, and just four from inside the box. St Louis, Kayla Polius and Kyla Lionel each had two shots on goal.

SVG concluded their participation in the tournament with consecutive wins, ending with a 2-0-2 record and third-place finish in the group, despite shipping 24 goals. Saint Lucia let in 18 goals, and scored just one in five matches. Mexico won Group A with a perfect 4-0 record.
