Togo Graduates 80 Public Sector Digital Officers to Accelerate Government Digital Transformation

The Ministry of Digital Economy and Digital Transformation of Togo,  through the Agence Togo Digital,  has celebrated the graduation of a new cohort of public sector digitalisation officers, marking a significant milestone in the country’s public service digital transformation agenda.

A total of 80 officers drawn from 27 ministries were officially recognised at a certificate ceremony held on 12 June 2026 at the Sarakawa Hotel. The participants were selected from an initial pool of 1,442 candidates, and successfully completed an extensive training programme designed to strengthen digital capacity within the public administration.

The initiative, led by the Ministry of Digital Economy and Digital Transformation, aims to build a network of skilled professionals capable of supporting and accelerating digital transformation projects across government institutions. It focuses on equipping ministries and agencies with the talent required to effectively implement and manage digital systems and services.

The training programme combined multiple learning approaches, including online courses, intensive workshops, coaching sessions, and practical exercises. Participants were exposed to a wide range of competencies such as English immersion, CAPM® project management, product management, leadership development, career optimisation, and the use of artificial intelligence tools in partnership with ALX Africa.

Three major intensive training sessions were held between September 2025 and June 2026, where participants applied their learning in areas such as IT project management, communication, emotional intelligence, teamwork, time management, and adaptability.

Officials noted that the certification marks the completion of the training phase and the beginning of a new implementation stage. The newly certified digitalisation officers are now expected to actively support digital transformation efforts within their respective ministries, contributing to project delivery and strengthening institutional capacity.

The government of Togo reaffirmed that the programme represents a strategic investment in human capital, aimed at building a modern, efficient, and citizen-focused public administration driven by skilled and committed professionals.
