Residents, traders and supporters will be gathering in Brixton Station Road later today to attend a rally and street party in response to the proposed sale of Brixton Market.
Top of the agenda will be a discussion about creating a community-led bid to retain Brixton’s iconic markets, ahead of the news that unnamed investors are looking to acquire the site with plans that could see rents hiked and independent traders displaced.
A petition backing community ownership has already gathered over 27,500 signatures.

6.45 PM : Speech from The Advocacy Academy
From 6.45 PM onwards , expect games, chants and drumming by Dende Nation, music by Just Vibez, Art stalls, TAA & BTCA stalls & chalking and drawing for kids
