Web Web 'Slave To The Rhythm' (Compost Records) - PREMIERE!

The brilliant jazz outfit led by Robert Di Gioia - Web Web - return with an extraordinary collection of jazz interpretations of popular (and not quite so well known) songs on the suitable titled new album ‘Kover Kover’.

These aren’t just cheapo jazz trio versions for your Auntie’s third wedding reception but deeply explored new ways of envisaging songs by Nirvana, Black Sabbath, Jimi Hendrix, Talking Heads, Empire Of The Sun, Joe Jackson, Eurythmics, Kruder & Dorfmeister, Passport and more. Released on the mighty Compost Records on April 24th, this is a must for the cover-lover!

We are delighted to premiere this fabulous version of Grace Jones’ iconic track ‘Slave To The Rhythm’ that broke MTV and the charts in 1985, replacing its Trevor Horn-produced metallic funk with a deep, swinging spiritual groove reminiscent of the likes of Pharaoh Sanders but without the 17-minute freakouts!
