Uganda Cranes open their Pamoja 2027 Afcon qualification campaign with an away tie against Tunisia on Thursday September 24 at Hammad Agrebi stadium.
Although the Cranes are already qualified as co-hosts alongside Kenya and Tanzania, the qualifying campaign offers Paul Put opportunity to assess and prepare his team for the finals come next year.
Besides Tunisia, Uganda will face Libya and Botswana in the campaign but ahead of the clash in Tunis, we delve into some interesting statistics and facts about the game.
This will be the eighth official meeting between the two nations with the latest being at Afcon 2025 in Morocco.
- Tunisia have outscored Uganda 8–0 across their two previous AFCON qualifiers meetings and hold a perfect record across all seven encounters between the sides, with an aggregate score of 19–2.
- Tunisia’s biggest win over Uganda was a 6–0 home victory in 2000 AFCON qualifying on 27 February 1999, also winning the match in Kampala 2-0 on April 10, 1999.
