On the latest Belle Collective, the Belles and their men celebrate Mike and Selena’s upcoming wedding in Atlanta. The group bonds at a nightclub, but Matt and Kerri clash over receiving the smallest room in the house. Their disagreement later unfolds in front of everyone.
Here’s the recap for “A-Paul-Ling.”
Kerri is unhappy after seeing her room.
The couples arrive at the “Bad and Boujee” house for Mike and Selena’s pre-wedding celebration. Latrice tells everyone that their rooms have already been selected and their names are posted on the doors.
As the group tours the house, the Belles notice that Latrice has the best room. One of the women jokes that Latrice may have organized the trip, but she is “not the bride-to-be.”
Kerri becomes upset when she sees the small room that has been selected for her and Matt. She calls it a “little FEMA trailer” and believes the choice is revenge for the Gulf Coast trip. Kerri then asks for her bags and says, “This house is gone.”
The Collective celebrates Selena, and Kerri becomes upset at Matt.
The group heads to V12, where Selena and Mike are surprised with a celebration ahead of their wedding. Selena says she has never entered a room with so much excitement and calls the experience “one for the books.”
The Belles share what Selena and Mike mean to them. Lateshia recalls that Selena was the first person to congratulate her when the Collective came together. She describes Selena as a “beautiful soul” and wishes the couple the best.
Selena appreciates the support for her upcoming marriage. She says she feels the love and sisterhood in the room before everyone raises a toast to the Collective.
However, Kerri remains distracted by her disagreement with Matt. She hopes he will reconsider staying at a hotel, but she later learns that he booked one for himself. Kerri becomes upset and says, “This is not the time nor the place.”
Matt and Kerri clash over their sleeping arrangements.
Matt decides to stay at a hotel because he and Kerri do not have a bed at the house. After driving more than six hours, he feels tired and hungry. Matt also dislikes hearing Kerri side with the group instead of supporting him.
Kerri believes Matt should stay despite the uncomfortable accommodations. His decision to leave in front of their friends makes her question their relationship. She feels especially vulnerable while dealing with their business problems.
The group shares mixed opinions about the disagreement. Lateshia asks Matt to “take one for the team,” while another Belle believes Kerri should follow her husband. Others understand why Matt does not want to sleep on a pullout couch.
Kerri later calls Matt’s decision rude because they traveled to spend time with the group. Matt repeatedly reminds her, “We don’t have a bed.” Their argument continues until he tells her to enjoy herself.
Lateshia and Glen discuss repairing their marriage.
Lateshia says the trip has helped her reconnect with Glen. Once they are alone, she brings up their argument at the reservoir. She admits that throwing around the word “divorce” made her feel bad.
Glen acknowledges that his ego got the best of him. Lateshia asks him to improve how he communicates with her instead of using his authority as her husband to tell her what to do.
Although Lateshia believes they are getting back on the same page, she remains cautious. She sees “light in the tunnel” but questions whether the progress in their marriage will last.
Matt stays with Kerri before the Belles clash in the kitchen.
Matt reluctantly stays at the house and sleeps beside Kerri on the pullout couch. He says the arrangement is horrible but agrees to “take one for the team.” Matt explains that he compromised because the trip and spending time with the Belles are important to Kerri.
Although Kerri is glad Matt stayed, she dislikes how much convincing it took. She hoped the trip would bring them closer, but feels they are “back at square one.” Kerri also warns that her patience is wearing thin.
The disagreement follows them into the kitchen when Matt encourages Kerri to help prepare breakfast. She initially refuses and jokes that she will contribute an appetite. However, the Belles eventually persuade her to assist.
Kerri quickly questions how Lateshia is cooking the sausage. She argues that sausage makes its own grease and does not need to be deep-fried. The group later learns that the husbands and wives will separate for the day, partly to give Matt and Kerri some space.
Kerri storms away after Matt receives praise for staying.
The group continues joking about Matt and Kerri’s disagreement during breakfast. Kerri becomes irritated when the others cheer for Matt after he stays at the house. She questions why he receives praise when she believes he caused the conflict.
Kerri says she feels unappreciated and has “literally had enough.” She then leaves the room as the group tries to understand what upset her.
Matt does not follow Kerri. He says everyone is an adult and believes the disagreement is not important enough to interrupt the group’s fun. The others note that Kerri’s reaction reveals more layers to the conflict.
Kerri tells Latrice that business problems are affecting her marriage.
Latrice checks on Kerri because she does not want the conflict with Matt to disrupt the trip. Kerri admits that she may have displaced anger, but struggles to explain the sudden tension.
Kerri says Matt gets to laugh and enjoy himself while she faces emails and major business decisions. She feels annoyed when he questions why she will not help cook breakfast. Kerri tells Latrice, “Everything I do, I do it awesomely well,” but admits she is struggling to hold herself together.
The possible sale of Brick & Spoon adds to Kerri’s stress. She says two potential buyers fell through, and she may have to close the restaurant within days. Kerri fears losing hundreds of thousands of dollars while remaining responsible for the bills.
Kerri also wants Matt to take on more of the pressure rather than remain on the outside. She says she is already drowning as a CEO and cannot become “the cooking, waiting-on-you woman.” Since Kerri and Matt have been together for decades, the episode ends with Latrice asking if they may be growing apart.
What are your thoughts about the episode?
