Various Artists—Classic Blues from Smithsonian Folkways Recordings, June 12
For their latest release, the U.S. National Museum's non-profit record label, Smithsonian Folkways Recordings, takes the listener on a deep dive covering fifty years of classic blues. Honoring the foundation's caveat that every album in the catalog stays in print forever, regardless of its commercial sales, the label has put out a blues compendium from artists including the Rev. Gary Davis, Josh White, Brownie McGhee and Sonny Terry, Etta Baker and Lead Belly.
