*A legal filing in California has brought renewed attention to Cassie’s current whereabouts, with the singer stating under oath that she is now living outside the United States while continuing to face litigation connected to allegations involving Sean “Diddy” Combs.
The declaration, dated May 1, 2026, was submitted in connection with a lawsuit filed by male escort Clayton Howard, TMZ reports. In the filing, Cassie addressed her residency status in direct terms, stating, “I reside outside of the United States. I do not intend to move back to the United States.”
She further clarified her legal and geographic status, writing, “I am a citizen of the United States. I am not a resident of the State of California.”
The lawsuit filed by Howard in California centers on allegations that he was involved in encounters he says were arranged with Cassie and Sean “Diddy” Combs. He also claims those encounters resulted in him contracting an STD and alleges that Cassie became pregnant before later having an abortion.
Howard further alleges in the case that he was subjected to severe sexual abuse by Diddy and Cassie, which he says caused both physical and psychological harm.
Court records and filings also reference a message allegedly sent by Howard to Cassie’s husband, Alex Fine, in 2023 after Cassie publicly raised allegations involving Diddy. In that message, Howard reportedly expressed support for her account and described witnessing troubling situations.
The alleged message reads, “I know your wife’s truth is 100% valid as I’m sure you did as well, I would have come forward and I’m glad she got some form of Justice.!”
It continues with additional claims, stating, “A lot of what I saw really bothered me and because homie was f***ed up. But I knew she was in love and wouldn’t leave despite being beaten up and punch in the chest in hotel rooms, choked and forced into shit I don’t wanna embarrass anyone with, I’m dam happy you saved her. … I’m glad she got something probably not near what she deserves.”
Cassie’s response filing also raises practical considerations about her current location, noting that although she now lives abroad, she would be better positioned to attend legal proceedings in New York due to her attorneys being based there, rather than traveling to California for the case.
