The City of Windhoek has announced the commencement of speed hump installations in parts of Katutura, urging motorists to cooperate with contractors and adhere to road signs during the process.
“Residents and road users are informed that the City of Windhoek, through its contractor Namibia Construction, is currently carrying out road upgrade and decongestion works along Eneas Peter Nanyemba Road at Katutura, from the east of the B1 Interchange to Omulunga street”, says city spokesperson Lydia Amutenya.
Amutenya says this is to improve road safety and slow down traffic.
The installation will take place on Omuvapu Abraham Mashego, Omungwindi and Caesar streets.
The construction period is from 4 March to 30 April, she says.
“During this time, residents and motorists may experience temporary traffic disruptions and restricted access in certain areas.”
Amutenya urges the public to adhere to traffic signs and access restrictions in construction zones to ensure safety.
