City police lead beautification effort at RC Boys Infant School

The Castries Constituency Council City Police Department has repainted the dilapidated wall of the RC Boys Infant School as part of its community‑policing programme.

The project was driven by the belief that a clean, bright and attractive environment contributes not only to the physical appearance of the city but also to positive mindsets, particularly among young students.

“The officers felt that if students return to an environment that is bright and inviting, it would encourage a more positive mindset,” Mayor of Castries Geraldine Lendor said. “That positivity can also help minimise the tendency for persons to become involved in deviant behaviours.”

The mayor says that the project aligns with the RSLPF City Police Department’s emphasis on community support and preventative policing.

Lendor commended the police officers for their efforts, noting that the initiative came immediately after they completed a gruelling three-day after-school activity.

“The efforts of the city police officers are very commendable,” she said. “Despite their demanding schedule, they still committed themselves to giving back to the city.”

Inspector Yone Camshon has pledged to continue working alongside his team on similar initiatives and is encouraging greater involvement from private sector agencies to support the general upliftment of Castries and its surrounding communities.

The mayor said such partnerships are key to maintaining a cleaner, safer and more positive city environment for students, residents and visitors alike.
