ZIMBABWE Football Association (ZIFA) Division 2 side Barca Kadoma has announced the signing of former Caps United player Hardlife Zvirekwi.

The experienced defender-cum-midfielder has been enlisted into the Kadoma-based team as it bolsters its squad ahead of the new season.

Zvirekwi, known for his leadership and skill, is expected to bring much-needed stability and versatility to the Barca Kadoma defence and midfield.

Club president Matthew Maveto told the media that the player brings in a wealth of experience from his time at Caps United and later Simba Bhora.

“Hardlife brings a lot of experience to the table, having played for top teams like Caps United and Simba bhora,” Maveto said.

“We are focused on blending new talent with experience, and Zvirekwi is one to lead and mentor our young players.”

Speaking on home games, Maveto revealed plans to use Rimuka Stadium, aiming to connect with Kadoma supporters.

“We will be playing at Rimuka Stadium, a central venue where our fans can easily come and support us. We want to make sure supporters enjoy the team and we are confident this will boost our performance,” he said.

Zvirekwi himself expressed excitement about the new challenge, highlighting the team’s potential.

“I’m looking forward to contributing to Barca Kadoma’s success and helping the team achieve its goals,” he said.

Barca Kadoma has since restructured its executive and technical staff as the team gears up for the 2026 season. David Sengu, a former player, has been appointed as the new head coach, with Rodwell Chinyengetere joining him as assistant coach.

Last season, Barca Kadoma narrowly missed out on promotion to Division 1 when they lost in a playoff penalty shootout against eventual winners Chingwere FC.
