From Taylor Swift to Role Model, Which New Music Release Is Your Favorite This Week? Vote!
Niall Horan, Lizzo, Tinashe and Ryan Beatty also have fresh projects this week.
June is off to a fantastic start with new music releases from Taylor Swift, Role Model and more — and Billboard wants to know which one is your favorite.
Arguably the buzziest new track that arrived Friday (June 5) is “I Knew It, I Knew You,” which the Eras Tour headliner penned for the new Toy Story 5 movie hitting theaters in a couple weeks. The country-tinged track finds the pop superstar revisiting her genre roots to pay homage to one character in particular: Jessie, the cowgirl action figure voiced by Joan Cusack.
“Writing this song felt like a musical departure and coming home at the same time,” Swift wrote in a post on Instagram after the release of the song, which will appear on the film’s official soundtrack. “Creating something for Jessie was a new challenge and also felt like second nature all at once. And being a Toy Story kid from the age of 5 til now… is an adventure I plan to be on, to infinity and beyond.”
Role Model also returns this week with new track “High Hopes 3000,” marking the official beginning of his new era following the breakout success of his last album, Kansas Anymore. The rising star searches for love on the lead single to his upcoming next LP, Chuck Timely & The Hourglass.
Also back is Lizzo, who dropped new album Bitch, her first since 2022’s Special. “Reclaiming the word ‘b—h’ is power,” she said in a statement about album’s title when announcing the project. “It’s taking a label once used to diminish women and turning it into a declaration of confidence and unapologetic self-love.”
Also new on the first Friday of June are Niall Horan’s new album Dinner Party, and singles by Tinashe, who shared “Too Easy” and Ryan Beatty, who’s back with “Secret Language.” Plus, streaming services updated with new albums from Vybz Kartel (God & Time), Vince Staples (Cry Baby), HorsegiirL (Nature Is Healing) and Prospa (Free Your Mind).
As the calendar cranks up the volume on summer, Billboard wants to know which of the new projects you plan on blasting the most from your speakers. Vote for your favorite release of the week below.
