Google Cloud Launches Gemini Enterprise AI Platform for Financial Services

Google Cloud  has unveiled Gemini Enterprise for Financial Services, a purpose-built agentic artificial intelligence solution designed to help financial institutions automate research, improve workflows and make faster, data-driven decisions.

The solution is initially available in preview to organisations in the capital markets and corporate banking sectors. Global financial institutions including CME Group and Deutsche Bank are already using or testing the technology, with Deutsche Bank serving as a key design partner for Google Cloud’s Financial Research agent.

Gemini Enterprise for Financial Services combines a Google-managed Financial Research agent, more than 50 specialised financial skills, enterprise data connectors, third-party AI agents and the underlying Gemini Enterprise platform. Google Cloud said the solution is designed specifically for the security, governance, compliance and data requirements of regulated financial institutions.

The platform provides secure connections to market data, news feeds, regulatory filings and internal databases. It includes 13 connectors to licensed data providers and financial information sources, allowing AI-generated research to be grounded in verifiable information and accompanied by source citations and data provenance.

Google Cloud CEO Thomas Kurian said financial professionals need AI platforms that can work across different models and connect with existing IT systems while meeting strict security and compliance requirements. He added that the new solution is intended to give financial institutions agentic capabilities with explainable and verifiable outputs.

The Financial Research agent can automate multi-step research activities and provide confidence scores, methodologies, data snapshots and source citations to support auditing and verification. Users can access the agent through the Gemini Enterprise application or integrate it into existing agent workflows using Agent-to-Agent APIs.

The platform’s specialised financial skills are designed to support workflows including credit risk assessment, portfolio monitoring, market news analysis, investigative financial research, wealth management and compliance.

Gemini Enterprise for Financial Services also provides access to third-party agents from Google Cloud’s partner ecosystem. These include tools for business verification and KYC compliance, loan document processing, financial analysis, data retrieval and energy and sustainability research.

Google Cloud said the platform can support several high-value financial workflows. These include generating insights for relationship managers and advisors, accelerating KYC research, analysing portfolio risk, identifying potential credit-market opportunities and reducing the time required to prepare bond issuance pitches.

Deutsche Bank plans to deploy the Financial Research agent across its Corporate Bank to help identify customer needs, recommend relevant products, streamline customer acquisition and monitor market developments. The bank is also exploring applications in financial crime risk management, forecasting, scenario analysis and pitch preparation.

The solution is designed to work within existing productivity environments, including Google Workspace and Microsoft 365, allowing users to generate and analyse AI-powered insights and export outputs to applications such as Docs, Sheets, Slides, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Google Cloud said the launch forms part of a broader strategy to develop specialised industry solutions on top of its secure and governed Gemini Enterprise platform, with Financial Services and Legal being the first in a planned series of packaged solutions tailored to specific industries.
