Nigerian-American artist, songwriter, and producer Mannywellz releases his highly anticipated new EP, Small Chops, via Vydia.
Entirely self-produced and self-written, the 7-track project blends R&B and soul influences while exploring themes of love, vulnerability, and emotional connection. Clocking in at under 15 minutes, Small Chops is a concise yet immersive listen, featuring fellow Nigerian artists Wale and Lekan and capturing the many stages of romance – from infatuation and desire to reflection and longing – through Mannywellz’s signature fusion of soulful songwriting, rich production, and cross-cultural storytelling.
Inspired by the popular Nigerian appetizer assortment of the same name, Small Chops serves as a sonic appetizer ahead of Mannywellz’s forthcoming full-length album. As the final EP in this chapter of his artistic journey, the project offers listeners a taste of what’s to come while continuing to build his position as one of the most exciting voices bridging African influences with contemporary global R&B.
The release follows the success of his latest visual for “How It Feels“ featuring Wale, which surpassed one million views in just two weeks. His 2025 single “Holy Father“ also helped introduce the sonic world that would ultimately become Small Chops.
Beyond music, Mannywellz is a DACA recipient who has shared his immigration journey through his art, drawing from his experience moving from Nigeria to the United States at age nine. He uses his platform to advocate for Dreamers and fellow undocumented immigrants and contributed to the Grammy Award-winning American Dreamers: Voices of Hope, Music of Freedom. Following his inclusion in BET’s Next Up and a placement on Billboard’s U.S. Afrobeats Top 100, he continues to establish himself as a distinct voice in contemporary R&B, surpassing 100 million streams globally.
