By Zoila Palma: Today, Mayor Earl Trapp Jr. and the San Ignacio and Santa Elena Town Council issued a statement expressing condolences on the loss of two employees to gun violence, Manuel Smith and Fidencia Osgalla.
The Town Council says that in honor of fallen colleagues and their families, the council has cancelled today’s Staff Appreciation Day.
“Our offices will reopen this morning May 6th, 2026 at 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM tentatively.
We lean on our community for strength and ask for your prayers for the families and coworkers left behind. May we stand together in peace and support,” the council expressed.
