It's believed the driver of the vehicle failed to stop at intersection and ended up in the river.

Search underway for occupants of vehicle that plunged into the Crocodile River

A search is underway for occupants of a vehicle that reportedly plunged into the Crocodile River just outside Mbombela City in Mpumalanga.

It is believed that the driver of the vehicle failed to stop at an intersection, crashed through a fence and ended up in the crocodile-infested river.

The river is about 500 metres from the road. Residents say the incident happened shortly after 4 AM.

Police divers, paramedics and law enforcement officers are on the scene searching for the occupants of the vehicle.
