The 2026 Park Lines BMX Tournament returns to Johannesburg on 30 May, bringing together South Africa’s top BMX Freestyle riders for the national championship showdown at SkyLab Skatepark.
Johannesburg, South Africa (12 May 2026) – The streets of Johannesburg are about to get loud, colourful, and packed with serious airtime as South Africa’s BMX Freestyle scene gears up for its biggest showdown of the year.
The 2026 Park Lines BMX Tournament doubles up as the official South African BMX Freestyle Championships and will take place on Saturday, 30 May at the SkyLab Skatepark inside Jozi-X Adventure Park in Bryanston.
It’s where national titles will be decided, bragging rights will be earned, and riders will quite literally be judged on how high, how stylish, and how creative they can go on two wheels.
From early in the day, riders from across the country will roll in for qualifying heats, all chasing a spot in the finals. Every run counts, with judges scoring based on flow, trick difficulty, amplitude, style, and how well each rider uses the park’s specially designed obstacles.
The setup at SkyLab Skatepark is built for progression. Think ramps, rails, and features designed to push riders into bigger, more technical, and more creative lines.

Once the field is narrowed down, the Pro Division will take centre stage, with top riders battling it out for national titles, prize money, and a line-up of prizes including a Garmin Instinct 3 Smartwatch and other partner rewards.
The Amateur Division won’t be holding back either, with emerging riders competing for standout prizes, including a brand-new Mongoose BMX, giving the next generation a real taste of competitive freestyle BMX.
And just when things couldn’t get more intense, the day wraps up with the always chaotic Best Trick competition.
Beyond the medals and prizes, this event carries serious weight in the sport. Park Lines is a Cycling South Africa and Union Cycliste Internationale-sanctioned championship, meaning riders are also chasing valuable UCI points that could shape qualification paths toward the 2026 BMX Freestyle World Championships.
And for anyone not riding but still wanting to be part of the action — it’s open doors. Spectators can expect a full day of high-energy riding, big moments, and plenty of crashes and comebacks, all from the sidelines.
No tickets needed, just a front-row seat to South Africa’s BMX Freestyle scene at full speed.
