Mexican superstar Carín León unveils new song, “Ruca,” and confirms his forthcoming album MUDA is set for release on May 7.

On MUDA, León will expand his sonic universe across 14 tracks, including previously released single “La Buena,” “Ruca,” as well as two collaborations—one with acclaimed Venezuelan group Rawayana on “Bingo,” and with one of the most influential artists of the 21st century, Juanes on “Carranga.”

Written by Andrés Jael Correa RíosCasta, and Edgar Barrera (and produced by the latter two), “Ruca” fuses disco and funk, as León expands his palette towards a global, pop-leaning sound. The single arrives with an accompanying music video, filmed at the legendary Club Obregón in Hermosillo, Sonora. For the video, León once again joined forces with the team led by director Yerick Johnson and Gibran “Kran” Rosas on production, from the production house Black Corp.

For the “Ruca” single cover, León teams up with iconic American photographer Mike Miller, who is responsible for the entire visual identity of MUDA.

León recently announced a headlining show at Madison Square Garden on June 22. His return to the venue will be one of many stops on León’s massive North American tour, beginning in HidalgoTexas, on May 20.
