BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS — Representatives from the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA) in St. Kitts and Nevis and Grenada recently visited the Hatchery Management Centre in St. Kitts as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen regional collaboration in agriculture.

Ms Sharon Jones, Technical Advisor at the IICA Office in St. Kitts and Nevis, and Ms Carrema Lewis, IICA Communications Officer in Grenada, gained valuable insights into the Taiwan-supported hatchery operations and management systems currently in place.

According to the Embassy of the Republic of China (Taiwan), both sides engaged in in-depth discussions on collaboration models and explored future directions for upcoming agricultural projects.

The Embassy further noted that, through strengthened international partnerships and the integration of resources, efforts continue to inject new momentum into the layer chicken industry in St. Kitts and Nevis.

“These initiatives are aimed at building a more stable and sustainable local production system, while creating a brighter future for farmers,” the Embassy stated.

The visit underscores the importance of regional cooperation and international support in advancing agricultural development and food security within St. Kitts and Nevis.
