For Joy Rohadfox, leadership is about far more than overseeing projects, it’s about creating lasting impact. As she continues to lead Rohadfox into its next era, Joy is honoring a powerful family legacy while carving out a bold vision of her own rooted in purpose, opportunity, and service. From transformative infrastructure projects connected to Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport to community-centered initiatives like “A Step Forward for Our Community,” Joy is proving that true success isn’t measured only by what you build, but by how many lives you uplift along the way. With a people-first mindset and a passion for opening doors for future generations , especially women in the industry, she’s helping redefine what modern leadership looks like in Atlanta and beyond.

Mo Clark: Your leadership journey is deeply rooted in legacy and purpose. How has your father’s vision shaped the way you lead Rohadfox today, especially as you expand its impact both locally and internationally?
Joy Rohadfox: My father didn’t lead with a lot of words; he led by presence, consistency, and integrity. He showed me that leadership isn’t something you announce, it’s something people feel. That has stayed with me.
As I’ve stepped into this role, I’ve carried that foundation with me, but I’ve also had to define it for myself. His vision was always rooted in doing the work the right way, building trust, and letting your reputation speak before you do. As we grow, whether here in Atlanta or expanding into new markets, I’m focused on maintaining that same standard while being intentional about scale, relationships, and impact.
It’s not just about growth. It’s about growing with purpose and making sure that what we build continues to stand for something.
Mo Clark: Rohadfox has played a major role in transformative infrastructure projects, including work tied to Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. How do you ensure that large-scale development stays centered on community impact and people-first outcomes?
Joy Rohadfox: For us, infrastructure has never just been about buildings or runways, it’s about people. Every project we’re a part of touches lives in ways that go far beyond the physical structure.
We make a conscious effort to stay connected to the communities we serve. That means thinking about access, opportunity, and long-term impact from the very beginning. It’s about asking: how does this create opportunity for the next generation?
When you lead with this question, the work becomes more than a project, it becomes a responsibility. And that’s how we approach every opportunity.
Mo Clark: “A Step Forward for Our Community” feels both personal and purposeful. What inspired this initiative, and how does it reflect your own journey of resilience and service?
Joy Rohadfox: This initiative is very personal to me. I’ve always believed that to whom much is given, much is required, and this is a reflection of that.
Shoes may seem simple, but they represent dignity, movement, and the ability to take your next step, literally and figuratively. When I think about my own journey, there were moments where I had to keep moving forward, even when things weren’t clear or easy.
“A Step Forward for Our Community” is about turning reflection into action. It’s about using this milestone moment for our company to do something that directly impacts people who are working to rebuild their lives. That’s what makes it meaningful.

Mo Clark: The partnership with The Atlanta Mission brings a direct connection to families in need. What do you hope Atlantans take away from participating in this shoe drive, beyond just the act of giving?
Joy Rohadfox: I hope people see that something small can have a real, tangible impact. A pair of shoes can help someone show up for an interview, get to work, or simply feel seen again.
But beyond that, I hope it reminds people that we all have a role to play in supporting our community. This isn’t about Rohadfox, it’s about all of us coming together to create opportunity for others.
If people walk away feeling more connected, more aware, and more willing to take action in their own way, then we’ve done something right
Mo Clark: As Rohadfox celebrates 50 years of legacy, what does success look like to you in this next chapter, both in terms of business growth and the lives you aim to impact across Atlanta and beyond?
Joy Rohadfox: Success, to me, is about impact and longevity. Yes, we want to continue to grow, expand into new markets, take on meaningful projects, and build strong partnerships. But growth without purpose doesn’t mean much.
What matters most is that we continue to create opportunities, for our team, for our partners, and for the communities we serve. I want people to feel the presence of Rohadfox not just in the work we deliver, but in the way we show up.
And that includes creating space for women, especially women who may not always see themselves represented in this industry. I want to be part of changing that. Not just by opening doors, but by making sure women are prepared, positioned, and supported to walk through them with confidence.
If, in the next 50 years, we’re known not only for what we built, but for how we impacted lives, especially the lives of those coming behind us, then that’s success.
As Rohadfox celebrates 50 years of excellence, Joy Rohadfox is making it clear that the company’s future is just as meaningful as its legacy. Through intentional leadership, community investment, and a commitment to creating real opportunities, she continues to push the company forward while staying grounded in the values that built it. Whether she’s leading major development projects or inspiring the next generation of women to step confidently into spaces where they’ve historically been underrepresented, Joy’s impact reaches far beyond business. She’s building a legacy of purpose, one project, one partnership, and one community at a time.
