By Breaking Belize News Staff: Businessman and Thirsty Thursday owner Khris Rosado has pleaded guilty in the High Court to causing death by careless conduct in connection with the fatal traffic accident that claimed the life of Police Constable Arsenio Cus.

Rosado entered the guilty plea on Tuesday before Justice Derick Sylvester. He was represented by attorney Dr. Lynden Jones, while Crown Counsel Maria Nembhard-Santana appeared for the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions.

Rosado is scheduled to be sentenced on June 30, 2026.

The case stems from a fatal road traffic accident on July 28, 2025, between miles 6 and 7 on the Philip Goldson Highway, near the Haulover Bridge area. Police reported that PC Cus, 38, of Silver Creek Village, was travelling from Ladyville toward Belize City on a black motorcycle when a black vehicle allegedly entered his lane and collided with him.

Cus fell from the motorcycle and sustained injuries to his head and lower abdomen. He was transported to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. A post-mortem examination certified that he died from multiple blunt force traumatic injuries as a consequence of a road traffic accident.

Following the accident, police detained Rosado, a businessman and deejay of Sword Fish Avenue, Ladyville, after locating him at his residence. Police also found a 2009 Honda Ridgeline pickup truck with extensive damage to the front right side and driver’s side area.

Rosado was initially arraigned in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court in November 2025 on several charges, including manslaughter by negligence, causing death by careless conduct, driving without due care and attention, failure to stop and render aid, and failure to report an accident. He was granted bail in the sum of $6,000 plus two sureties of $3,000 each.

After a preliminary inquiry, Rosado was committed to stand trial. In the High Court, he was indicted for causing death by careless conduct, to which he has now pleaded guilty.
