Safal Uganda Baati Institute Receives 30 Computers to Boost ICT Skills

The Safal Uganda Baati Technical Training Institute has received 30 computers in a donation aimed at strengthening Information and Communication Technology (ICT) skills among its students.

The handover was made during a visit to Tororo District by the leadership of Kenya’s Mabaati Rolling Mills (MRM) Foundation and donors from the Angaza Centre Foundation, hosted by the Safal Uganda Baati Foundation.

The donation marks a milestone in the Foundation’s ongoing efforts to expand access to quality education and enhance digital learning opportunities for young people in Uganda.

The computers are expected to significantly improve the institute’s ICT infrastructure, enabling students to acquire practical digital skills, access online learning resources, and better prepare for higher education and the job market. The support comes at a time when digital literacy is increasingly vital for innovation, productivity, and economic participation.

Speaking during the handover ceremony, Jackie Tahakanizibwa, Head of Corporate and External Affairs at Uganda Baati Limited, said the initiative reflects the Foundation’s commitment to transforming communities through education.

“At the Safal Uganda Baati Foundation, we recognise that access to technology is no longer a luxury but a necessity. By providing these computers, we are creating an enabling environment for students to develop the digital competencies needed to thrive in today’s knowledge-based economy. We are proud to partner with organisations that share our vision of empowering young people through education,” she said.

Tahakanizibwa added that the Foundation’s investments are focused on delivering long-term impact by creating opportunities that extend beyond immediate needs and contribute to sustainable community development.

Education remains a key driver of social and economic transformation. The partnership underscores the importance of collaboration in bridging resource gaps, strengthening educational institutions, and equipping learners with the skills required in an increasingly digital world.

The Safal Uganda Baati Foundation says it will continue to expand its community programmes, focusing on initiatives that empower individuals, strengthen institutions, and promote sustainable socio-economic progress.

The Tororo donation stands as a testament to the transformative power of partnerships in advancing educational opportunity and building a digitally skilled workforce.
