Twelfth Night Outdoors at the Streatham Rookery – Auditions June 11th and 15th 2026

The Streatham Theatre Company is holding auditions for their production of Twelfth Nightm which will be staged in the Rookery.

Here’s the details:

Shipwrecked in an unfamiliar land, twins Viola and Sebastian both believe the other to be dead. When Viola disguises herself as a man, she quickly finds herself caught between the lovestruck duke, Orsino, and the object of his affections, the Countess Olivia.

Full of love, music, mistaken identity, and a little bit of mischief, Twelfth Night has something for everyone.

This family-friendly production of William Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night, directed by Lizzie Hartree & Robin Bracken-Kemish, will be performed outdoors in the Rookery gardens, from the 21st to the 23rd of August (dates to be confirmed).

Audition Information

FREE AUDITIONS will take place on Thursday June 11th and Monday June 15th at Vinters Studios.

How to audition:

COME to one of these dates:

  • 11th June, 7 for 7.30pm
  • 15th June, 7 for 7.30pm

Alternatively, SUBMIT A SELF-TAPE (1-2 mins of Shakespeare, or of the specific character you’re auditioning for) by the 14th June.

If cast, you will need to be either a current STC member or join STC at a cost of £10 for the year. Rehearsals will start end of June, beginning of July.

Roles Available

Anyone of any gender is welcome to audition for any part. For the role of Feste, singing/musical ability is preferred.

  • Viola: Young woman who disguises herself as a man (Cesario). Works for, and falls in love with, Orsino.
  • Olivia: Countess in mourning for her brother’s death. Falls in love with Cesario.
  • Orsino: Lovestruck Duke, head over heels for Olivia, but finds himself getting closer to his new servant, Cesario.
  • Sir Toby Belch: Olivia’s drunkard uncle. Friends with Sir Andrew and Maria, teams up with them to prank Malvolio.
  • Feste: Fool/entertainer. Wanders between Orsino’s palace and Olivia’s.
  • Malvolio: Olivia’s steward. Uptight and strict, he is the object of a prank played on him by Sir Toby, Sir Andrew, and Maria.
  • Maria: Olivia’s gentlewoman. Comes up with the idea to prank Malvolio.
  • Sir Andrew Aguecheek: A foolish knight. Friends with Sir Toby, wishes to court Olivia.
  • Sebastian: Viola’s twin brother, who survives the shipwreck when rescued by Antonio.
  • Antonio: Former enemy of Orsino, risks great danger in following Sebastian there.
  • Valentine: Servant of Orsino.
  • Captain: Rescues Viola from shipwreck, helps her disguise herself.
  • Priest/Servant/Other: Various small roles
