For more than five decades, Les Aiglons has remained one of the most recognizable musical groups in the French Caribbean. Now, after years of performing across Europe, the Americas and the wider Caribbean, the legendary Guadeloupean band is finally preparing to make its long-awaited Saint Lucian debut at the 2026 Saint Lucia Jazz and Arts Festival.

The veteran group is set to take the stage on May 9 during the festival’s highly anticipated “World Beats” showcase, adding another layer of Caribbean energy and nostalgia to an already star-studded lineup.

Known for iconic hits such as Cuisse La, Yo vwè’w, Califonie and Chaperon, Les Aiglons built a loyal following across generations, becoming a staple of Caribbean music culture while continuing to evolve their sound over the years.

Ahead of the performance, vocalist Andrew Marcellain described the upcoming appearance as both emotional and historic for the band.

“We have been to many, many festivals, played around Europe, America, Brazil,” Marcellain said. “It is very, very pleasing to be here.”

For the group, the performance represents more than another festival booking. It marks the first time Les Aiglons will perform in Saint Lucia despite a career spanning approximately 55 years.

“We never had the opportunity to come,” Marcellain revealed. “After 55 years, this is the first time.”

The band’s arrival is expected to resonate strongly with Caribbean audiences familiar with the group’s signature sound and cultural impact throughout the region.

Marcellain also reflected on the passion that has kept the group performing for more than half a century.

“Music…if you don’t have music, you don’t have life,” he stated. “We come on stage and make people realize that. That’s what we’re looking forward to with the people.”

Les Aiglons’ inclusion in “World Beats” is expected to bring a strong dose of French Caribbean flavor to the Saint Lucia Jazz and Arts Festival, which continues to position itself as one of the region’s premier cultural events.

The May 9 showcase is expected to blend regional rhythms with international influences, creating one of the festival’s most culturally diverse nights as patrons prepare for the final stretch of the 2026 celebrations.
