Ballon d’Or 2026: ‘Complete footballer’ – Paul Dickov names player to win award

Former Arsenal striker Paul Dickov has tipped Declan Rice to be the top contender to win the Ballon d’Or, only if the Gunners lift the Champions League this season.

Dickov also praised Rice, calling the England midfielder a “complete and wonderful footballer”.

“Declan is a wonderful, complete player,” Dickov told MrQ, as quoted by the Irish Mirror.

“Whether Arsenal win the Premier League or not, the Champions League is what really matters for the Ballon d’Or.

“So if Arsenal go on and win the Champions League, then Declan Rice has in with a great shout for the Ballon d’Or.”

Rice joined Arsenal from Premier League side West Ham United and has been a key player for Mikel Arteta’s side so far.
