Issa Rae and Prentice Penny are revisiting the world of Insecure through a new podcast celebrating the legacy of the acclaimed HBO series. Released through Rae’s HOORAE media company, BLOCC PARTY: An Insecure Podcast officially launched today, bringing listeners back into the conversations, relationships, and behind-the-scenes stories tied to one of television’s most influential comedies of the last decade.

Hosted by Rae and Penny, who served as the showrunner for Insecure, the podcast reflects on the series nearly 10 years after its debut. Episodes touch memorable moments from the show while also exploring how the series influenced discussions surrounding friendship, dating, work, and Black life both online and offscreen.

“With the upcoming 10th anniversary of Insecure premiering felt like the perfect time to revisit the show with Issa,” says Penny. “We wanted to let people know how we crafted the show with the people that contributed heavily along the way. Issa and I often get asked what inspired us in making various episodes and the podcast gave us the ability to do a deeper dive into those subjects. We can’t wait for our fans to hear what we have coming!”

Alongside commentary from both, the podcast includes appearances from several creatives connected to the original production.
