Saint Lucia international footballer Shania Charles will continue both her studies and sports career at Hesston College in Kansas. She is transferring from Allen Community College and plans to start at Hesston in the fall of 2026 as she works toward her undergraduate degree.
Hesston is a small college with just over 400 students. The school competes in the Continental Athletic Conference (CAC) and the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA). Last season, the women’s football team reached the CAC championship in their first year as an NAIA school.
Charles is an experienced and versatile defender who will join the Larks to “Defend The Nest” next term after spending two years with the Lady Red Devils. Last season, as team captain, she scored two goals, made three assists, and was active in campus life.
During her sophomore year, Charles served as president of the Student Senate and the Phi Theta Kappa sorority. She also helped organise the school’s World Food Fair. As a healthcare student, she was part of a team that won a state competition for a mental health awareness campaign for local athletes.
