James Reid finds freedom on the 'Sunny Side' with Luke April — listen

James Reid is soaking up the moment on his latest release. The Filipino singer-songwriter and actor has released 'Sunny Side', a new collaboration with producer and artist Luke April via Sony Music Entertainment. The alternative pop track pairs filtered drums and guitars with an easygoing rap section, capturing the freedom of having nowhere to be and simply seeing where the day takes you. Beyond its carefree sound, 'Sunny Side' sees Reid finding confidence in defining freedom on his own terms. “Yes, it’s about freedom, but it’s also about feeling untouchable,” Reid shared. “Who I am is not defined by what people think; it’s who I choose to be despite what people think.”           View this post on Instagram                       A post shared by James Reid (@james) The track came together during a week-long creative session in a makeshift outdoor studio, where Reid, April, and their collaborators leaned into improvisation and experimentation. April cited Dominic Fike's Sunburn and Jean Dawson's 'Bruiseboy' among the musical inspirations behind the release. 'Sunny Side' offers another taste of Reid's forthcoming album, honey, i'm home, arriving 10 September.
