Vermani, a research and policy analyst with B.C.’s Ministry of Post-Secondary Education and Future Skills, has a Master of Commerce degree, a Bachelor of Education degree, and a postgraduate diploma in computer applications. Prior to joining the Ministry of Post Secondary Education, Vermani was a research and policy analyst with the Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General.
“Shina’s experience in education and public safety, and her years of community service with seniors, youth and new Canadians, make her a strong addition to our Surrey First team,” said Surrey First Councillor and candidate for mayor Linda Annis.
Vermani said: “I’m looking forward to reaching out to local neighbourhoods and earning every vote. I’m also excited about serving our growing community as we get ready to be our province’s largest city.”
Vermani joins Debra Antifaev, Councillor Mike Bose, Janet Brown, Bilal Cheema, Jasroop Gosal, Gagan Nahal, and Clint Stewart on the Surrey First slate headed by Annis.
