MSU Press will be attending the Forty-Seventh Annual Meeting of the Society for the Historians of the Early American Republic (SHEAR) from July 16-19, 2026 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. We will be displaying books about early Michigan and environmental history.

In particular, we will be highlighting four of our recently released books: Reckoning with the Past: National Geographic and the Limits of Social Justice Rhetoric by Leland G. Spencer, The Great Lakes Ships of Frank E. Kirby by Richard Gebhart, Retracing the Dragoon Trail in Iowa: Environmental Transformation along the Des Moines River by Kevin T.
