Spoken Word Pharmacy Brings Healing Through Poetry to Brixton

London, UK Join us at Ritzy Cinema on 23rd April as the Spoken Word Pharmacy takes

centre stage, transforming the iconic Ritzy into a space for expression, reflection, and

connection.

Hosted by Skin Like Mine in collaboration with Poetic Unity, this unique evening blends

spoken word, storytelling, and community dialogue, offering attendees a chance to

experience the therapeutic power of poetry. Running from 7:00PM to 9:00PM, the event

invites both seasoned performers and first-time speakers to share their voices in an open,

welcoming environment.

The Spoken Word Pharmacy is more than just a performance; it’s a space created for

healing, empowerment, and collective storytelling. In community with some of London’s

finest Black poets, our performers and attendees will explore identity and culture together.

The evening will feature a curated lineup of poets alongside an open mic competition,

creating an inclusive platform where creativity and authenticity thrive. The winner of the open

mic will receive a £100 voucher, with additional prizes for the runner ups and swag bags for

attendees who sign up for a testing kit/rapid HIV test.
