On Tuesday, April 28th, Emmy Award-winning Apple TV+ show Ted Lasso released its teaser trailer for the upcoming Season 4. Episode 1 is scheduled to air on Wednesday, August 5th, and return many fan favorites. These include Hannah Waddingham as ‘Rebecca’, Juno Temple as ‘Keely’, and executive producer Jason Sudeikis as ‘Ted’. It will be released weekly every Wednesday until the season finale on October 7th. For the duration of the highly anticipated teaser, Mumford & Sons “Rubber Band Man” (with Hozier) plays in the background. This hit song is from their newest album Prizefighter, released on February 20th, 2026. The 14-track album debuted No.1 on the UK’s Album chart. The album also includes collaborations with Chris Stapleton, Gracie Abrams, and Gigi Perez.
But Mumford & Sons and the cast of Ted Lasso are no strangers. After Sudeikis messaged Marcus Mumford directly, Mumford immediately took on the role of shaping Ted Lasso’s identity through music. The band eventually composed the Ted Lasso theme song in collaboration with Tom Howe. “It needed to have this sound that was somewhere in the middle of the Atlantic that represented both the American and British influences of the show,” Mumford told Variety back in 2023. “Somewhere between The Kinks and Creedence Clearwater Revival.”
Just last year, on July 24th, Jason Sudeikis, Juno Temple, Hannah Waddingham and Brendan Hunt joined the folk-rock group on stage at their show in Kansas City, Missouri to dance along the show’s theme song. Marcus Mumford and Waddingham harmonized the chorus together, “Yeah, it might be all that you get / Yeah, I guess this might well be it / Well, heaven knows I’ve tried” and fans were left speechless.
Much of the soundtrack features Mumford, who also scores the musical interludes. It even features a cover of the infamous Liverpool FC song “You’ll Never Walk Alone” during the final scenes of the Season 1 finale. Their music is frequently featured throughout the show, with their 2018 single ‘Forever’ appearing in Season 1, Episode 5. The band will showcase their new music in their upcoming Prizefighter tour starting May 2nd at Spark Arena in Auckland New Zealand. It will feature 43 shows stretching across three continents. Some of the stops will be in major cities, including New York, London, Rome, and Montreal. Their last show will be played on October 8th at the Shoreline Amphitheater in Mountain View, California
