Three separate incidents of theft and breaking and entering have been reported to police across Antigua in a single week, with businesses in Fort Road, Belmont, and All Saints all targeted.

Investigators are pursuing inquiries into all three matters, with sources indicating useful information has already been obtained in at least one case.

In the first incident, reports are that an unknown person entered an office at a commercial establishment on Fort Road and removed approximately EC$1500 from a drawer. According to reports, the sum was left unattended for less than an hour on the morning of June 19th 2026, between 9:00 and 9:50 a.m., while a staff member stepped away to an adjoining supermarket. Upon her return, the money was discovered missing. Sources indicate that several employees were interviewed and that useful information was obtained. Inquiries are ongoing.

In a separate matter, a power drill was allegedly stolen from a building under construction in Belmont sometime between midday on June 18th and 7:00 a.m. the following day. According to reports, an unknown person or persons used an implement to force open a deadbolt lock on a northern metal door, gained entry to the building, and removed the tool from a table inside before exiting through the same entry point. A search of the area did not recover the item. The value of the drill has not yet been established. Inquiries are continuing.

A third incident, reportedly the earliest of the three, occurred at a shop in All Saints between 5:30 p.m. on June 16th and 8 o’clock the following morning. According to sources, an intruder or intruders used a hard object to pry open a southern wooden shutter window, gained access to the premises, and removed a quantity of blunts along with both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages before exiting through an eastern wooden door. Investigations into all matters are ongoing.
