The junior football development landscape continues to gain momentum, with Total Football Academy announcing that 16 teams will participate in the upcoming Total U11 Future Stars Cup, set to take place at Churchill High School.
The tournament has attracted strong interest from some leading football academies, highlighting the growing importance of structured grassroots competition in Zimbabwe.
Among the academies expected to participate are Aces Youth Soccer Academy, Legends Football Academy, Real Oviedo Zimbabwe, BN Soccer Academy, Athletes Sphere Academy (formerly Real Betis Academy), Queens Mine (Shamva), Cranbourne Football Academy, Big Stuff Academy, and FC Porto Academy, among others.
Total Football Academy Technical Director, Justin Kabetha, said the competition is designed to provide young players with a critical platform for growth and development.
“The Future Stars Cup is about giving young players the right environment to express themselves, compete, and grow. At Under-11 level, players are building strong technical foundations and understanding team dynamics. Competitive tournaments like this are essential in shaping confident, disciplined, and intelligent footballers,” Kabetha said.
“The tournament is open to players born on or after 1 January 2015 and will provide a professionally organized platform focused on development, sportsmanship, and competitive excellence.”
He added that the initiative goes beyond competition, playing a key role in strengthening Zimbabwe’s football structures from the grassroots level.
“The U11 Future Stars Cup aims not only to crown champions but also to promote unity among academies and strengthen grassroots football structures in Zimbabwe. Parents, supporters, and football stakeholders are encouraged to attend and witness the next generation of football talent in action.”
The tournament is expected to showcase emerging talent and further cement the role of academies in nurturing Zimbabwe’s future football stars.
