County singer and member of the family band The Judds, Wynonna returns with her first solo album in 10 years. The Hard Truth is due out October 2 via ANTI- and features roots musicians like Patterson Hood of Drive-By TruckersThe War and Treaty, and Iron & Wine. As she says in a press release,

I've spent a lifetime singing about heartbreak, healing, faith, and survival, but I've never made a record like this one. ...These songs tell the truth about where I've been, what I've lost, what I've overcome, and who I've become. This album asked me to be brave enough to tell the truth—even when my voice shook. It challenged me to let go of perfectionism and embrace the beauty of honest emotion. My hope is that when you hear these songs, you feel what I was feeling while writing and recording them. If they help someone feel seen, understood, or a little less alone, then every hard truth was worth telling.

Lead single "Kentucky Queen" is out now.

American folk singer and living legend Peggy Seeger announced her final album, Vintage, out now. The 26-track album is available only on Bandcamp, as she writes on social media, "because the streaming services are paying writers and artists less and less." Read more about Vintage in her own words and listen below.

Also on August 14, Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and Grammy Hall of Fame member Carly Simon returns with her first record of original music since 2008. The new album, titled, Comes In Waves, comprises 12 songs that a press release describes as, "[return] to the themes that have defined her work for more than five decades: love, memory, family, forgiveness, self-discovery, and the complicated ways we make peace with ourselves and one another."
