By Zoila Palma: On May 5, 2026, the Ministry of Agriculture met with representatives from Tipolis, a Singapore-based company developing a portfolio of privately governed, autonomous “International Cities.”
Tipolis partners with host nations to create zones with independent legal systems and regulations, designed to attract talent, businesses, and investors. Tipolis promotes its cities as the “next generation” of Special Economic Zones (SEZs), moving beyond manufacturing to create holistic, high-quality living and business environments.
Tipolis representatives were in country exploring possible future investments and met with different ministries as they explore the investment opportunities available in Belize.
Participants included Minister Rodwell Ferguson and senior officers in the Ministry of Agriculture, Food Security and New Growth Industries, Minister Osmond Martinez and officers of the Ministry of Economic Transformation, as well as by officers from BELTRAIDE, the Ministry of Sustainable Development and Climate Change, and the Ministry of Foreign Trade.
