Dissatisfaction brings about a change

The Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad, Eternal Leader of the Nation of Islam, taught on what would happen if a people became dissatisfied with their government, leaders and their condition.

“We are living in the time when dissatisfaction is 100 percent throughout the world of man and mankind. Therefore we are living among the dissatisfied persons, daily and nightly,” He wrote in chapter 23 of His seminal book, “The Fall of America.”

Although published in 1973, the words of the Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad are increasingly unfolding in real time as the United States continues to unravel and spiral.

On May 1, in an emerging sign of dissatisfaction, tens of thousands of people took to the streets for “May Day” protests in cities around the country.

These protests come on the heels of several “No Kings” marches that have taken place as citizens have gathered at state capitols, small cities and large, expressing their anger, outrage and dissatisfaction with their government and political leaders.

According to May Day organizers, their demands include the U.S. leaving Iran, prioritizing workers over corporations and billionaires and earmarking money and resources to the marginalized communities that need it most.

Participants urged an economic blackout, walkouts from work and school, workers’ strikes, and more. The May Day Strong coalition, which called for the protests, consists of over 500 labor, community, and immigrant rights groups.

According to reporting from PBS.org, May 1 is a public holiday in many countries to mark International Workers’ Day, or Labor Day, when workers’ unions traditionally rally around wages, pensions, inequality and broader political issues. Actions took place in other countries, including the U.S.

In America, people of various cultural and ethnic backgrounds took to the streets over rising gas prices, the cost of living and overall frustration with the direction of the country.

According to a recent Reuters/Ipsos poll, conducted April 24-27, it was found that “a rising share of Americans say the national economy is off on the wrong track: 61%, up from 43% in January 2025.

In addition, a rising share of Americans (20%) say that economic concerns are the most important problem facing the country, up slightly from March (16%).”

Disillusionment with the government can also be found among people regarding the U.S. role in Iran and the Middle East. “Two months into the U.S. military conflict with Iran, Americans continue to express significant doubts about how President Donald Trump and his administration are handling the situation,” noted the Pew Research Center on May 1.

“About six-in-ten Americans (62%) disapprove of Trump’s handling of the military action against Iran, according to a new Pew Research Center survey. That includes 45% who strongly disapprove,” noted Pew regarding a survey of over 5,100 adults conducted April 20-26.

There have been massive protest movements in America before and under many presidential administrations. However, as the downward spiral of the U.S. continues, everyday citizens continue to feel the brunt of the impact, and their anger and frustration increase.

Those in power in government who have been elected to represent and advocate for their constituents seem dazed and confused and have proven their leadership is feckless when it comes to truly fighting for the “least of these.”

The Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad wrote further about the dissatisfaction gripping the country. “No one is satisfied though they may be righteous. They are not satisfied because they are living among unrighteousness.

So the whole entire world of the wicked and the righteous is upset due to dissatisfaction. The dissatisfied are gaining everyday more and more among the people whom they hope to bring into the same condition that they are in. And today nothing is made so clear to the chief-maker of dissatisfaction.”

In the nearly 250 years since the “founding” of what is now called the United States of America, it has rarely, if ever, had any peace due to its tyranny, oppression, and murder of Black and Indigenous people.

Today, some of that dissatisfaction is being felt and experienced even among some Whites, many of whom participated in the May Day 2026 protests and who made up a great majority of the No Kings protesters.

The Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan, National Representative of the Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad, like his father, has made it plain what trajectory America is on.

“America, the greatest nation in the last 6,000 years, is in a time of trouble like America has never experienced! Look at the confusion in our government; why, the latest statistics say that only 11 percent of the American people favor the U.S. Congress—that means that 89 percent of the American people are dissatisfiedwith the Legislative body of this nation.

The people are not satisfied, completely, with The Judicial Branch; nor are they completely satisfied with The Executive Branch, so when you have ‘dissatisfaction’ in a country that has almost reached ‘100 percent,’ this type of dissatisfaction demands a change!” Minister Farrakhan explained in part 2 of his 58-week lecture series “The Time and What Must Be Done” in 2013.

Complete dissatisfaction brings about a universal change, as taught by the Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad and the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan.

Change is an inevitable part of life. Throughout history, countries have fallen or crumbled, sometimes because their citizens become disenfranchised and frustrated with the ineptitude, corruption, and dysfunction of their government leaders. They desire to start anew, as Jesus declares in Revelation 21:5, “Behold, I make all things new.”

Dissatisfaction is bringing about a change, in which a new system of government by Almighty God Allah, Who Came in the Person of Master Fard Muhammad, is the Ruler and Author of. The Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan explained that “democracy,” “socialism,” “communism,” or other forms of government are not prophesied to last.

He pointed to the book of Isaiah in the Bible, 9:6-7, which states, “For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, The Mighty God, The Everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end … .”

Complete dissatisfaction brings about a universal change.

That “‘Government’ in which there is ‘no end’: It doesn’t ‘rise’ only to fall. It is a System of Government that will bring in ‘Eternal Progress’; and that is what Jesus referred to as ‘Eternal Life.’

That is why the Christians hope for ‘The Christ’ to come, the Jews hope for the coming of ‘The Messiah’ and the Muslims hope for ‘The Messiah and The Mahdi’ to come, because this is a human being coming into the world to bring in ‘The Kingdom of God,’” Minister Farrakhan said, then adding,

“The Kingdom of God is that Eternal Government that will bring Peace, Freedom, Justice and Equality to every human being that will survive The War of Armageddon, and the end of this system of things.”

So, as we continue to witness growing dissatisfaction in America, understand that we are witnessing a change of worlds, and that the Kingdom of God is at Hand.
